HOW TO MEASURE

TIPS & TOOLS

  • Use a steel tape measure.

  • Measure each window individually. Even the smallest differences make all the difference.

  • Write down all of your measurements in millimetres clearly. Your best bet is to go with pencil, just in case your first measurements need a little reworking.

  • With inside fit the depth of your window frame needs to exceed 50mm in order to fit a blind bracket or the blind will not sit flush inside the window frame.

HOW TO MEASURE INSIDE FIT

  1. Measure the width of the recess from wall to wall in three places, note the smallest measurement.

  2. Measure the height of the recess from the top of the recess to the window sill in three places, note the smallest measurement.

  3. Note: All measurements are in millimetres.

HOW TO MEASURE OUTSIDE FIT

  1. Measure the required width of the blind in millimetres (usually from the outside edge of the frame or architrave or wider if desired). If the window has no architrave or frame you will need to add at least 40mm on each side of the opening.

  2. Measure the required drop (or length) from the top of the architrave or frame.

  3. Note: All measurement are in millimetres.
